It’s time to implement our Strategic Plan!

 In IE Blog

At the end of the Summer, NECC finalized its strategic plan, which was approved by the Board of Higher Education in Massachusetts. Framed under the Equity Imperative, our five strategic goals are:

  1. Community Impact
  2. Academic Innovation
  3. Assessment and Informed Improvement
  4. Student Support
  5. Employee Excellence

Many individuals across the college have been hard at work as we gear up to begin enacting the strategic goals and priorities that we outlined in our final strategic plan.

Truly, this entire process has been a huge team effort since the beginning. Check out one of my favorite zoom room pictures from las summer when we convened over 40 members of the college to kick off the strategic planning process!

While the website is not yet finalized and we have many exciting new tools and resources forthcoming, I am excited to highlight one way that the Office of Institutional Effectiveness will be involved.

The Planning and Assessment Rubric is a tool that anyone, a manager, a staff assistant, a VP, or a professor can use to ensure that the work they are doing on a daily basis is rowing in the same direction and helping NECC make progress on our five strategic goals. To begin rolling out the use of this tool, VP of Institutional Advancement, Allison Dolan-Wilson, and I will be hosting two simultaneous trainings for Managers on November 16 (one in Lawrence and one in Haverhill). These trainings will be for managers of the college and will focus on how to utilize this new tool to ensure your area is aligning with our strategic goals. This group will be getting the first preview of this tool, as well as the many exciting other resources coming down the pike, so I hope you will sign up. Here’s the link to register for the training… we hope to see you there!

November 16:

  • Lawrence (L244): 2-4 pm with Audrey Ellis
  • Haverhill (C204): 2-4 pm with Allison Dolan-Wilson
